| Business description: | The company produces and sells combed and carded textile yarns. The manufacturer was established in 2006, under the favorable conditions of the textile cluster development program in the “Ontustyk” Special Economic Zone of Kazakhstan. The company is located in the city of Shymkent, a macro-regional center of South Kazakhstan, a sunny region of the Republic. The city has a population of 650 000 people, conveniently located on the Turkestan-Siberia Railway, 690 km west of Almaty and 120 km to the north of Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and has an international airport. Priorities for the company include determination to achieving projected full plant capacity and elimination of liabilities in the short-term, and long-term strategy for the provision of community support and job creation. The company has made significant investments in the construction of a new cotton processing plant, equipped with the latest equipment and technology from the largest manufacturers such as Swiss RIETER and USTER. It has developed a strict production quality control system that meets European ISO 9000 standards. Output production completely oriented for export, delivering 89% of output to Italy, Turkey, Russia, and other countries. It has recently signed 3-year sales contracts with large Turkish corporate customers for 18 000 tons of yarn (full production capacity). It employs 272 workers and supports national cotton producers with 100% of its raw materials supplied by the domestic market. By recent estimates, working at full capacity, the plant can generate around $27 million in sales. Production line is designed for simultaneous manufacturing of 468.8 kg of carded and 259.5 kg of combed yarns per hour. The carded system produces cotton yarns with linear densities of 5 Nm—50 Nm. The combed production line generates high-quality yarns of 34 Nm—250 Nm linear density. | |
